Kathmandu: The mini auction for the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) concluded on Saturday with eight franchises securing a total of 37 players from a pool of 164. With the signings, all teams have now reached the required quota of 11 Nepali players.
Four Players Fetch Highest Price of Rs 1.5 Million
Four ‘A’ category players were signed at the auction’s maximum price tag of Rs 1.5 million. These were Dev Khanal and Arjun Saud for Chitwan Rhinos, Adil Alam for Kathmandu Gorkhas, and Pawan Saraf for Karnali Yaks. Multiple franchise bids for the same players led to their final selection via a ‘lucky draw’.
Additionally, Dilip Nath, Sher Malla, Hemant Dhami, Surya Tamang, Santosh Yadav, and Yuvraj Khatri each fetched Rs 1 million.
Chitwan Rhinos Lead in Spending, Pokhara Avengers Spend Least
Chitwan Rhinos emerged as the top spenders, investing Rs 3.9 million, while Pokhara Avengers were the most frugal at Rs 1.1 million.
